For the first time since the Kargil intervention in 1999, Indian territory has been occupied by foreign troops. Starting in the third week of April, more than 5,000 Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops have intervened at five locations in Ladakh – four on the banks of the Galvan River, and one near Lake Pangong.
