A Possible Line-Up for Pakistan in the 5th T20I Versus New Zealand

The T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand will end with the fifth and final match in Rawalpindi on Monday. Pakistan has already won two of the four matches and secured an unassailable lead in the series. Despite winning the third T20I, rain forced the cancellation of the fourth match for New Zealand.

The team led by Babar Azam is not planning to change their lineup for the upcoming match as they aim to win the series. However, it’s important to mention that eight players from the New Zealand team are absent due to their participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Furthermore, the New Zealand team will be without their captain Kane Williamson, who is injured and unable to play. As a result, Tom Latham will be taking over the captaincy duties. This presents a good chance for new players to prove themselves and show their skills.

Pakistan and New Zealand will play five one-day international matches after their five-match T20 series. This will help them prepare for the 50-over World Cup in India later this year. They canceled the planned visit to Pakistan in September 2021 due to security concerns. As a result, this tour is making up for the missed visit. New Zealand did play two Tests and three one-day international matches in Pakistan three months ago.

The expected team composition of Pakistan for the fifth T20I is as follows:

Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan.
