Dexamethasone begins to disappear from medical stores across Pakistan

Dexamethasone has started disappearing from medical stores across Pakistan, including Karachi. This medicine, which is available in large quantities for only Rs. 300, had recently proved to be helpful in saving the lives of Corona patients.

According to a private TV channel, the drug DexaMethasone has become scarce outside Jinnah Hospital, Civil Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, and the drug has become extinct at various medical stores in Karachi.

Medical store owners say demand for the medicine began Tuesday night and ended Wednesday afternoon.

According to Abdul Samad Badhani, Senior Vice Chairman, Pakistan Chemist and Drug Association, the wholesale price of DexaMethasone Injection was Rs. 450 and retail price was Rs. 528. But as soon as hoarding started today, its price has gone up from 800 to 1000 and its sale has been stopped.
