Hart Island – where no one is allowed to go
In this video I will tell you about an island called Hart Island which is home to a million people buried near New York. Why aren’t people allowed to go there? You will find out in this video.
After passing through private hands for more than 200 years, Hart Island was sold to New York City in 1868. A year later, 45 acres were set aside for City Cemetery, a “potter’s field” for people who couldn’t afford private funerals.
