Peter Cancro became the fourth owner in 1975 of Jersey Mike’s Subs, established in 1956 on the Jersey Shore. He is also the owner who took Jersey Mike’s national when he began franchising in 1987. Today, 1,551 restaurants are extending from Connecticut to Utah, with an astonishing 266 of those locations in California alone.
