Former Chief Minister of Punjab and current Opposition Leader Mian Shehbaz Sharif claims that he will leave politics and will take retirement if British Court gives verdict against him.
Shehbaz Sharif was talking to a Press Conference in which he hinted at the possibility of leaving politics because of another case against him which is underway in British court.
This is not the first time that PMLN’s president is under scrutiny of courts. He is facing corruption cases against him in Pakistani courts as well.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is also working on serious cases against him. Although Shehbaz Sharif haven’t get any punishment yet but chances of it happening in near future is quite bright.
If Shehbaz Sharif also gets punishment, Then it will be a massive loss for the PMLN because almost all of their major party leaders are facing cases and some are in Jail as well.
Starting from PMLN founder, Former PM Nawaz Sharif. He was declared ineligible to participate in elections by Supreme Court in 2017 and since then PMLN’s major leadership is under threat.
Ministers like Saad Rafiq, Shahid Khakan Abbasi and Rana Sanaullah are already under NAB’s custody. If Shehbaz Sharif also gets verdict against him, This will be a major setback to the major opposition party.
On the other hand, Some media persons are saying that this situation will give some benefit to the PMLN as well because PMLN leaders wants government to take action against them so that they can use this as a tool against government.
On his latest case, Shehbaz Sharif also announced to take action in British courts on which senior lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan said that if Shehbaz Sharif took this step, Then this will further damage his case.
