Allergy treatments

The following home remedies can be effective in case of various allergy symptoms.

Use of rose water

Allergies sometimes also affect the eyes, causing irritation, inflammation, or redness of the eyes. These eye symptoms can be very distressing, as most of our daily activities depend on the eyes. Rose water can help treat allergy symptoms.

Rose water possesses anti-inflammatory properties, making it suitable for applying a few drops to the eyes before bedtime. Rose water has been utilized since ancient times for maintaining eye health. Additionally, you can place a small piece of cotton soaked in rose water on the eyes to alleviate the intensity of allergy symptoms.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin for the immune system, as it strengthens the immune system and aids in combating seasonal diseases like allergies. Allergies occur when the body’s immune system reacts to various factors, and in such cases, vitamin C can be beneficial in alleviating allergy symptoms.

Medical experts state that daily consumption of 2000 mg of vitamin C leads to a decrease in histamine levels. Histamine, a chemical present in certain body cells, can trigger various allergy symptoms like sneezing and a runny nose.

Eucalyptus oil

Various countries utilize eucalyptus oil for medicinal purposes, and it is also a common ingredient in different toothpaste varieties. Due to its antimicrobial properties, eucalyptus can be used throughout the year to alleviate allergy symptoms. You can bathe with eucalyptus oil in water to get effective results.

Honey

Since ancient times, different civilizations have used honey for various medicinal benefits, including anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which make it effective against medical symptoms such as allergies. However, clinical studies regarding the mechanisms and benefits of honey in combating allergies have not been conducted yet. Honey is consumed as a potential remedy for relieving allergies, and it can also be applied topically to the skin.

Use of masks

When we breathe, many of these pollutants enter the body through the nose and cause allergies. It is impossible to avoid these particles altogether. However, using a face mask can reduce the severity of the damage caused by these particles.

So try using a face mask whenever you leave the house. Additionally, the use of an N-95 mask effectively blocks up to ninety-five percent of small particles, reducing the risk of allergies and mitigating the severity of allergy symptoms when exposed to them.

Hit the snow

Ice can be very beneficial if the various body parts get itchy due to an allergic reaction. Applying ice on the itchy legs reduces the severity of the itch.

Also, keeping a cloth soaked in cold water on the itchy parts will reduce the itching. If allergies cause irritation in the eyes, it is recommended to thoroughly wash them with water. This action will swiftly eliminate the allergens from the eyes, providing relief.
